The Artist

Joe Beddall, a local artist residing in State College, is a graduate of Kutztown University with a BS in Art Education. Further studies in printmaking and pottery were undertaken in the Washington DC area at Northern Virginia Community College and Hinckley Pottery Studio.

“The challenge to create truly innovative art today has led to the exploration of various elements and processes available to artists. One approach to art making I have explored has focused on the creative process itself, giving that process an additional function as content of the work. By harnessing various energies and elements of nature I have developed techniques that, at first glance, appear to represent conventional abstract paintings. But closer scrutiny reveals a visual product having little in common with traditional brush on canvas paintings. I call this process Waterworks. ”
